It's really a good announcement from Oracle side. If you are using Oracle E-Business Suite with Oracle Database 12.1 or 11.2, then you will love this announcement. As of now the Extended Support Fee has been waived for EBS customers for Oracle 12.1 and 11.2 till December 2020.
Oracle's Lifetime Support policy has three phases: Premier Support, Extended Support, and Sustaining Support. You can purchase a support plan for your licensed products to obtain Premier Support. There is an additional fee for Extended Support.
Due to the certification timing of Oracle E-Business Suite with Oracle Database versions beyond 12.1, Oracle has waived Extended Support fees for Oracle Database 12.1 and 11.2 for Oracle Database licenses used for Oracle E-Business Suite through December 2020.
